It’s been awhile since I’ve written up a blog ..(forgive me) - so here I go!
Let me just start by saying how… I cannot stress how emotional we become the older we get. I’ve been SO DAMN GRATEFUL for all the opportunities that have come my way over the years, vendors I’ve worked with that have hustled like no tomorrow, and people who have such contagious energy and accept my wildly adventurous side. With that being said - If it wasn’t for this couple I’m about to mention, pushing my buttons as wedding vendors, amazing friends and NOW clients - I would be in a rut without their endless support! I’m talking about the one and only Restless Media Duo - Sajini + Justin…and the occasional Levi (their lovable, grass-obsessed French Bulldog)!
Amidst a global pandemic, a beautiful event occurred and yes of course… I was there to capture it along with my wonderful second shooter, Mostafa. When I got the message from Justin saying he was going to propose - I jumped so high I touched the ceiling …okaaaay not really ..but it sure felt like it! Working with some of their closest and genuine friends, we all pulled off this stunning proposal! AND TRUST ME - this was not easy, not only was this a huge surprise.. but I would chat with Sajini on the regular.. and we talk about weddings ALL THE TIME! It’s kinda like playing Among Us.. and you find out that you’re the Imposter and you’re trying to act calm when your mind is racing (if you know - YOU KNOW!). I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t impressed with myself for not slipping up **brushes that dirt off ma shoulder**.
You’re probably wondering how it all went down… WELL here is the story from my perspective.. a tale of two ‘restless’ souls. Get those intermission snacks going.. I’ll wait!

Back in the Summer of 2020, when Covid-19 made an appearance and forced everyone to social distance and wear masks (we tried to make it fashionable….) Justin decided against all odds to ask Sajini to marry him. For those of you who don’t know Justin - he’s a man of his word, and determined as hell, when he says he’s gonna do something… HE DOES IT! He booked a cozy cottage in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, with a tremendously big yard and put together numerous documents of all his planning, logistics and materials needed in google drive to share with us. Justin and his trustworthy friends assembled a framed structure with wooden beams, filled it with florals, greenery and TONS of photos taken during their relationship.. OH and fairy lights too!
On the day of, Sajini was under the impression that it was a birthday dinner they were attending - of course she didn’t want to show up empty handed and brought some sugary items.. not just any kind but gourmet vegan doughnuts from Crave Doughnuts. Upon arrival, I’m pretty sure she was saying “Why do you want me to put the doughnuts on the ground????” with a concerned look - However all of us were hiding behind the trees in hopes that she would mistake us for massive squirrels if we moved, yet alone breathed.
It definitely dawned on Sajini what was happening when both of them started walking towards the beautifully decorated awning. As Justin bent the knee, she was interrupted by their fur baby, Levi who ran across to ask permission too! How could you not cry.. especially when the mosquitos had no mercy on us!
And well, as the sun was setting… SHE SAID YES!!!!

SAJINI + JUSTIN, T-Minus 30 DAYS TILL YOUR WEDDING DAY! Let the final countdown BEGIN! AHHHH! Words cannot express how THRILLED I am for the next chapter in your lives. Both of you always, and I mean ALWAYS go above and beyond whether it’s for your clients, your loved ones and even the four legged fur balls! I thank you both for trusting in my vision and expertise on the daily, and just know that we’re going above and beyond for you every step of the way! Let’s partaaaay!
